I have to admit that I didn’t really pay much attention to Tyketto in the late ’80s and early ’90s. I was into hair metal, but the heyday of that genre was already over; in my opinion, Tyketto came along a few years too late.
With “Closer To The Sun,” the Americans have a new and extremely strong album out, which they’re now presenting live on a club tour in Europe—in Cologne’s Kantine, to be precise. At the Cologne venue, the guys proved that they’re absolute pros and that they don’t care how big the venue is or how many people they’re playing for. The five-piece band literally rocked their asses off, and I was surprised at how well the audience—which, as is typical for hair metal, had an extremely high proportion of women—knew the lyrics. Great concert; I’ll definitely be going back for more at Wacken in 2027!
