Hiraes mussten das ACFM Festival leider kurzfristig wegen einer Kehlkopferkrankung von Sängerin Britta Görtz absagen. Klar, dass es dann schwer ist, einen adäquaten Ersatz zu finden, den man sich mit der Grindcore Band Milking The Goat Machine aus Marburg offensichtlich versprach. Da war ich allerdings komplett raus! Ziegenmasken wären ja noch nett gewesen; allerdings (nicht nur) das Schlagzeug aus der Konserve zu nehmen, ist dann schon eine Sache, die mir aufstößt. Da wird einem erst richtig bewusst, was effektiv live noch von der Band gespielt wird. Klar, diese Harangehensweisen mit Samples sind inzwischen leider Gang und Gäbe bei Konzerten, hat aber mit einem Live Event nicht mehr viel zu tun. Dass dann Milking The Goat Machine den vorletzten Slot des Festivals hatten, war definitiv der späten Hiraes Absage geschuldet, dadurch aber nicht weniger unglücklich.
Unfortunately, Hiraes had to cancel their appearance at the ACFM Festival at the last minute due to a throat condition suffered by singer Britta Görtz. Obviously, it’s tough to find a suitable replacement, which is why they apparently turned to the grindcore band Milking The Goat Machine from Marburg. But I was completely out of the loop on that one! Goat masks would have been nice enough; however, using pre-recorded drums (and not just that) is something that really rubs me the wrong way. That’s when you really realize what the band is actually playing live. Sure, this approach with samples is unfortunately commonplace at concerts these days, but it doesn’t have much to do with a live event anymore. The fact that Milking The Goat Machine had the penultimate slot at the festival was definitely due to Hirae’s last-minute cancellation, but that doesn’t make it any less unfortunate.
