Für mich nicht unbedingt nachvollziehbar, füllen Ghost seit Jahren die großen Hallen. Ein Hype, den man ebenso von Powerwolf oder Sabaton kennt. Dementsprechend war die Rudolf-Weber-Arena in Oberhausen genau das richtige Pflaster für die Schweden um Sänger und Bandkopf Papa V Perpetua (Tobias Forge).
Dieses Mal ohne Supportband, präsentierten Ghost 21 Songs in der fast ausverkauften Halle.
Novum (nicht nur) für mich: keine Handys erlaubt. Wer sein Kommunikationsmittel dabei hatte, musste es in spezielle Boxen einschließen lassen.
Kein Novum dagegen die Fotoerlaubnis nicht aus dem Graben, sondern vom FOH (Front Of House, also von/hinter dem Mischpult). Also keine Gelegenheit auf gute und seltene Schnappschüsse, sondern – wie in meinem Fall – mit 400 mm draufhalten.
Die Stimmung in der Halle erwartungsgemäß bombig, so dass Ghost quasi offene Türen einrannten.
Abschließend noch ein Wort zu den Merch Preisen: 50 Euro für ein T-Shirt?!?! Echt jetzt?
It’s not necessarily understandable to me, but Ghost have been filling the big halls for years. It’s a hype that you also know from Powerwolf or Sabaton. Accordingly, the Rudolf-Weber-Arena in Oberhausen was exactly the right place for the Swedes around singer and band leader Papa V Perpetua.
This time without a support band, Ghost presented 21 songs in the almost sold-out hall.
Novelty (not only) for me: no cell phones allowed. Those who had their communication devices with them had to have them locked in special boxes.
No novelty, on the other hand, the photo permission not from the pit, but from FOH (Front Of House, i.e. from/behind the mixing desk). So no opportunity for good and rare snapshots, but – as in my case – to shoot with 400 mm.
As expected, the atmosphere in the hall was bombastic, so that Ghost practically ran into open doors.
Finally, a word about the merch prices: 50 euros for a T-shirt?!?!! Really?
