Ich hatte das Glück, Crimson Glory 1989 auf dem Metal Hammer Festival in Dortmund zu sehen. Damals mit „Midnight“ (+2009) am Micro und die Band mit Masken. Diese hat man inzwischen komplett abgelegt und präsentiert sich den Fans barhäuptig. Dass ich die Jungs aus Florida noch einmal sehen würde, wagte ich gar nicht zu hoffen. Das wurde nun in Wacken noch einmal möglich. Unlängst hatten Crimson Glory das starke Album „Chasing The Hydra“ mit Sänger Travis Wills veröffentlicht, was mich sehr beeindruckt hat. Live ist diese neue Konstellation einfach der Hammer! Travis‘ Stimme zeigt viele Parallelen zu Midnight, was ihm auch ermöglicht, die alten Klassiker perfekt zu singen. So war dieses Konzert für mich ein weiteres Wacken 2026 Highlight (was ich auch so erhofft und erwartet hatte).
I was lucky enough to see Crimson Glory in 1989 at the Metal Hammer Festival in Dortmund. Back then, “Midnight” (+2009) was on vocals, and the band wore masks. They’ve since ditched the masks entirely and now perform bare-faced for their fans. I never dared to hope that I’d see the guys from Florida again. But now, at Wacken, that became possible once more. Crimson Glory recently released the powerful album “Chasing The Hydra” with singer Travis Wills, which really impressed me. Live, this new lineup is simply amazing! Travis’s voice bears many similarities to Midnight’s, which allows him to sing the old classics perfectly. So for me, this concert was another Wacken 2026 highlight (just as I’d hoped and expected).
