Uli Jon Roth ist es immer wert, live spielen zu sehen und vor allen Dingen, zu hören. Besonders, wenn er Scorpions Sets zum Besten gibt, sind die Konzerte von ihm einfach nicht von dieser Welt. Seine Begleitband ergänzt den Meister der Sechssaiter perfekt, und dieses Mal hatte er sich einige illuster Gäste eingeladen, die nach und nach zu ihm auf die Harder Stage kamen. Schon beim zweiten Song Pictured Life übernahm Mille Petrozza (Kreator) die Vocals. Kein leichtes Unterfangen für den Thrasher; mit einer Gitarre in der Hand hätte er sich vielleicht leichter getan. Danach bei Catch Your Train übernahm Nathan James das Micro.
Später im Set kamen noch Roland Grapow (Masterplan), Joahnna Sadonis (Lucifer) und Vassilios „Lucky“ Maniatopoulos (Rage) auf die Bühne, um Uli Jon Roth zu unterstützen.
Ein toller, abwechslungsreicher Set eines großen Künstlers!
Uli Jon Roth is always worth seeing—and above all, hearing—live. Especially when he performs Scorpions sets, his concerts are simply out of this world. His backing band complements the master of the six-string perfectly, and this time he had invited a few illustrious guests who joined him one by one on the Harder Stage. As early as the second song, “Pictured Life,” Mille Petrozza (Kreator) took over on vocals. Not an easy feat for the thrasher; he might have had an easier time of it with a guitar in his hand. Then, during “Catch Your Train,” Nathan James took the mic.
Later in the set, Roland Grapow (Masterplan), Joahnna Sadonis (Lucifer), and Vassilios “Lucky” Maniatopoulos (Rage) joined him on stage to support Uli Jon Roth.
A fantastic, varied set by a great artist!
