Mit der Änderung des Bandnamens von Wolfen in Warwolf und einigen Line-Up Anpassungen, scheint der Knoten bei den Kölner geplatzt zu sein. Die Alben haben unter dem Warwolf Banner einen Quantensprung gemacht und auch auf den Bühnen sieht man die Band immer öfter… Und, das fällt mir besonders auf, sind die Jungs um einiges entspannter und haben sichtlich Spaß auf den Brettern, die die Welt bedeuten.
Der „Vorwurf“, eine Iron Maiden Kopie zu sein, stecken Sänger Andreas von Lipinski und der Rest der Band inzwischen mit einem breiten Grinsen und jeder Menge Selbstironie weg und ziehen ihr Ding durch. Und das führt, wie beim Dragonslayer Festival dazu, dass die Gigs allerbeste Unterhaltung mit jeder Menge geiler Mucke sind. Was will man denn mehr?
With the change of the band name from Wolfen to Warwolf and a few lineup adjustments, things seem to have really taken off for the Cologne-based band. Their albums have made a quantum leap under the Warwolf banner, and the band is also appearing on stage more and more often… And, what strikes me in particular, is that the guys are a lot more relaxed and are clearly having fun on the stage.Singer Andreas von Lipinski and the rest of the band now brush off the “accusation” of being an Iron Maiden copy with a broad grin and plenty of self-irony and just do their thing. And that means, as at the Dragonslayer Festival, that their gigs are top-notch entertainment with lots of great music. What more could you want?
