Allerhöchste Eisenbahn, Gravestone (noch) einmal live zu erleben. Auf Grund der Tatsache, dass die Band in den Achtzigern hauptsächlich im süddeutschen Gebiet aktiv unterwegs war und auch seit der Reunion 2019 den nördlichen Teil der Republik quasi ignoriert hat, gab es eigentlich für mich nichts anderes, als das finale Konzert im Memminger Kaminwerk zu besuchen. Klar, 500 km schreckten schon etwas ab; aber Mathias „Don“ Dieth redete mit Engelszungen auf mich ein, dass ich schließlich den Tripp anging.
Und ich muss sagen: Gott sei Dank! Was an diesem Abend geboten wurde, macht das „Clash Of The Titans“ Konzert zu einem meiner All Time Faves!
Lange habe ich eine solche Energie und Spielfreude nicht mehr gespürt. Dass es nach Stranger und Tyrant noch einmal geiler werden könnte, war eigentlich nicht mehr möglich. Und doch legten Gravestone eine weitere Schippe drauf. Dass die „alten“ Männer so viel Energie an den Tag legten, war einfach unvorstellbar. Dass Publikum stand, wie bei den beiden Acts zuvor, wie ein Bollwerk, sang lauthals mit, bangte und schwitzte.
Wie ich schon sagte: für mich ein ewiges Live Highlight! Danke Jungs!!
It was high time to see Gravestone live (once again). Since the band was mainly active in southern Germany in the ’80s and has pretty much ignored the northern part of the country since their 2019 reunion, there was really no other option for me but to attend the final concert at the Kaminwerk in Memmingen. Sure, the 500 km trip was a bit daunting; but Mathias “Don” Dieth sweet-talked me into it with such charm that I finally made the trip.
And I have to say: Thank God I did! What was on offer that evening makes the “Clash Of The Titans” concert one of my all-time favorites!
It had been a long time since I’d felt such energy and joy in playing. It didn’t seem possible that things could get any better after “Stranger” and “Tyrant.” And yet Gravestone took it up a notch. It was simply unimaginable that these “old” guys could display so much energy. Just like with the two acts before them, the crowd stood like a wall, singing along at the top of their lungs, headbanging, and sweating.
Like I said: for me, an eternal live highlight! Thanks, guys!!
