Ich muss gestehen, dass ich Ugly Kid Joe<\/strong>, als sie erfolgreich 1993 „Cats In The Cradle<\/strong>“ ver\u00f6ffentlichten und die Charts st\u00fcrmten, irgendwie nie richtig einordnen konnte. F\u00fcr Hard Rock zu weich, f\u00fcr Pop zu hart. „Rock“ traf es wohl am besten. Dass „Cats In The Cradle<\/strong>“ gar ein Cover von Harry Chapin<\/strong> war, habe ich erst viel sp\u00e4ter erfahren.
\nIch habe die Band all die Jahrzehnte aus den Augen verloren und erst vor kurzem einige Live Videos gesehen, die mich aufhorchen lie\u00dfen. Die Kalifornier sind ziemlich rockig, was mich dann dazu trieb, mir die Band auf der Louder Stage<\/strong> anzuschauen. Und tats\u00e4chlich: ich habe Ugly Kid Joe<\/strong> echt unrecht getan. Ein klasse Gig vor abertausenden begeisterter Fans.<\/p>\n

I must admit that when Ugly Kid Joe released their hit \u201cCats In The Cradle\u201d in 1993 and stormed the charts, I never really knew how to categorize them. Too soft for hard rock, too hard for pop. \u2018Rock\u2019 probably described them best. I only found out much later that \u201cCats In The Cradle\u201d was actually a cover of Harry Chapin’s song. <\/em>
\nI lost sight of the band for decades and only recently saw some live videos that caught my attention. The Californians are pretty rocking, which prompted me to check out the band on the Louder Stage. And sure enough, I had really done Ugly Kid Joe an injustice. A great gig in front of thousands of enthusiastic fans.<\/em><\/p>\n
