Während Rock meets Classic 2025 unterwegs ist, wird parallel bekanntgegeben, dass das Spektakel 2026 zum letzten Mal unter diesem Banner laufen wird.
Ein Grund mehr, das diesjährige RmC zu genießen, welches zusätzlich zu den ursprünglich geplanten 9 Städten, vier weitere Anlaufstätte erhalten hat. Dieses Jahr wieder in Düsseldorf in der Mitsubishi Electric Halle, die leider alles andere als ausverkauft ist.
Interessant die Stars, die Orchester und Band bereichern: Mal McNulty, der das Urgestein Noddy Holder bei Slade ersetzt hat, Randall Hall von Lynyrd Skynyrd, der besonders mit Free Bird und Sweet Home Alabama das Publikum zur Ekstase brachte, Fran Cosmo von Boston, der auf jede Menge Hits seiner Band zurückgreifen kann, John Elefante von Kansas, bei dem man immer wieder erstaunt ist, welche Hits die Band hatte, ohne dass man es mit dem Namen Kansas direkt verbinden würde, und schließlich als Höhepunkte des Abends Lita Ford und Glenn Hughes (u.a. Deep Purple, Black Sabbath). Beide sangen „If I Close my Eyes forever“ zusammen. Die Sets von Lita und Glenn über jeden Zweifel erhaben! Man glaubt kaum, dass die beiden keine Zwanzig mehr sind, und besonders Glenn Hughes besticht mal wieder mit seinem wahnsinnigen Gesang, der fehlerlos bis in die höchsten Höhen reicht.
Toller Abend, der einen wehmütig der letzten Tour 2026 entgegenschauen lässt.
